The open spaces between the stems keep the pendant visually light while emphasizing its elongated sculptural silhouette.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDepending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the glass may appear turquoise blue, vivid cobalt, deep ocean blue or slightly green-blue.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe version shown in the photographs has three smooth mushroom caps without dots, blue glass and a black finish. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe design begins with impressions of slender mushrooms, curling forest plants and fragments of blue light found among moss and fallen leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.
