Their varied heights and gently changing directions give the brooch a naturally irregular forest rhythm.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA large rounded oval glass element forms the vivid blue base of the composition. It is enclosed within a richly textured setting of tiny metal spheres and pointed organic details.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDepending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the glass may appear cobalt blue, sapphire, ultramarine, blue violet or a deeper midnight shade. Its transparency and internal reflections become especially visible when the light passes through it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSeveral thin curved metal lines travel across the front of the glass and end in smooth rounded droplets. Their flowing shapes add movement while leaving the luminous blue surface visible.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAdditional botanical stems form open loops and small inward curls around the mushrooms. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe design begins with impressions of tall mushrooms, curling forest shoots and fragments of blue light found among moss and woodland plants.
