A handcrafted mushroom brooch made from copper, pewter, amethyst and steel. The sculptural composition surrounds a polished round amethyst with several mushrooms on long curved stems, delicate buds and small organic details.
The brooch is designed as a small wearable object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each piece is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.
The design begins with impressions of mushroom clusters, delicate stems and small forms growing together on the forest floor. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.
I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is darkened with patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finish to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.
Amethyst is a natural stone, so its color, inclusions, pattern and transparency may vary slightly depending on the light and viewing angle.
Because every Yadovito piece is made by hand, small differences in mushroom shapes, stem curves, stone appearance and finish are natural and make each brooch individual.
