A handcrafted mushroom forest sculpture made from natural wood, copper, pewter, amethyst and steel. The composition combines an irregular piece of dark wood with slender blackened mushroom forms, curling organic lines and purple amethyst accents.
Raised on small metal feet, the sculpture is designed as a distinctive decorative object for a shelf, table, cabinet or personal art collection. Each piece is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.
The design begins with impressions of small forest mushrooms, bark and quiet forms found on the forest floor. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.
I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is darkened with patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finish to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.
Natural wood varies in grain, tone, texture and contour; these differences are an essential part of the finished sculpture.
Amethyst is a natural stone, so its color, pattern, inclusions and transparency may vary slightly.
Because every Yadovito creation is made by hand, small differences in shape, texture and finish are natural and make each sculpture individual.
