A handcrafted mushroom hair pin made from copper, pewter, two amethyst stones and steel. The sculptural composition combines a large round purple amethyst with a smaller stone, several mushrooms on long curved stems and delicate organic metal details.
The rich violet stones create luminous focal points within the silver-tone composition. The mushrooms, slender stems and small botanical forms spread outward above the two-prong hair pin, creating a miniature forest-inspired sculpture for the hair.
The hair pin is designed as a functional wearable botanical object, somewhere between an accessory, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each element is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.
The design begins with impressions of delicate mushrooms, curling stems, raindrops and small forms growing together among moss and fallen leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.
I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finish to help protect the surface and preserve its silver-tone appearance.
Amethyst may vary slightly in shade, translucency, pattern and internal details. Depending on the lighting, the stones may appear pale violet, deep purple or slightly different in tone.
Because every Yadovito piece is made by hand, small differences in mushroom shapes, stem curves, stone appearance and finish are natural and make each hair pin individual.
