Black Mushroom Crown with Green Glass

A handcrafted mushroom crown made from copper, pewter, green glass and steel. The sculptural design is built on a slender black metal headband and decorated with mushrooms, curling botanical lines, rounded buds and luminous green glass elements.

The mushrooms rise on long, individually curved stems around the crown. Their smooth sculptural caps are combined with delicate spirals and droplet-shaped details, creating the impression of a small fungi garden growing around the wearer’s head.

Round green glass elements are placed throughout the composition, adding vivid points of light among the black metal forms. Depending on the lighting, the glass may appear bright lime green, emerald or a deeper forest shade.

The asymmetrical spacing and varied height of the elements give the crown an organic silhouette without making it appear rigid or overly formal. It is designed as an expressive headpiece for festivals, performances, fantasy styling, forest fairy costumes, photo shoots or unusual ceremonial looks.

The version shown in the photographs has smooth mushroom caps without dots. Dotted mushroom details and other available glass colors may be requested through personalization.

Each component is shaped, assembled and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of mushroom clusters, young forest plants and fragments of green light found among moss and fallen leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass is melted in a special kiln and individually shaped. Small differences in its contours, internal texture and shades are a natural result of the handmade process.

Because every mushroom, stem, curl and glass setting is formed by hand, slight differences in spacing, curves, proportions and finish are natural and make each crown individual.

Packaging

Your order will be packed with care in a kraft gift box, decorated with themed stickers and dried flowers, ready for gifting or keeping as a special personal piece.
