Black Mushroom Single Earring – Copper & Pewter

A handcrafted single mushroom earring made from copper, pewter and steel. The elongated openwork composition features two sculptural mushroom caps rising on slender curved stems, with a textured seed-like detail formed from tiny metal spheres between them.

The flowing stems cross and connect within the lower part of the design, creating an airy botanical structure. Small rounded metal details and two delicate droplet-shaped endings complete the silhouette.

The deep black finish emphasizes the fine lines, handmade connections and organic irregularities of the composition. Although visually detailed, the open structure keeps the earring light and comfortable to wear.

The earring is designed as a small wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each element is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of slender mushrooms, curling stems and tiny seed forms found among moss and forest plants. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finish to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

Because every mushroom cap, stem and decorative detail is individually shaped by hand rather than cast or stamped, small differences in the curves, proportions, texture and finish are natural and make each earring unique.
