A pair of handcrafted teardrop earrings made from blue, amber and clear borosilicate glass with stainless steel ear wires. Each transparent drop contains rounded blue and amber glass forms with small captured bubbles, creating a luminous composition that changes with the light and viewing angle.
Light and comfortable to wear, the earrings bring a small glass sculpture into everyday styling. Each glass element is shaped individually by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.
The design begins with impressions of water drops, ocean colors and sunlight moving through transparent glass. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow the molten material to evolve until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.
I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.
