Blue Glass Amanita Mushroom Necklace – Blackened Copper & Pewter Forest Pendant

A handcrafted amanita mushroom pendant necklace made from copper, pewter, blue glass and steel. The airy sculptural composition features three mushrooms rising on long, gently curved stems above a luminous round glass element.

The central mushroom has a broad cap decorated with individually formed raised dots, while the two smaller mushrooms have smooth, softly pointed caps. Their different shapes and heights create an asymmetrical miniature fungi garden.

The large blue glass element rests at the base of the pendant within a textured setting of tiny metal spheres and pointed organic details. A smaller faceted blue glass bead adds another bright accent among the flowing dark stems.

A looping central line, rounded buds and delicate open spaces complete the composition. The curved stems appear to grow upward from the glass, giving the pendant a natural sense of movement while keeping its structure visually light.

The vivid blue glass creates a striking contrast with the deep black metal. Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, it may appear bright turquoise blue, deep cobalt or a darker ocean shade.

The version shown in the photographs combines one dotted mushroom cap with two smooth caps, blue glass and a black finish. Different mushroom details, another available glass color, a custom pendant size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

The pendant is designed as a small wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of mushroom clusters, curling forest plants and fragments of blue light found among moss and fallen leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass is melted in a special kiln and individually shaped. Small differences in its contours, internal texture and shade are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every mushroom cap, raised dot, stem and glass setting is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, glass forms and finish are natural and make each necklace individual.
