Blue Glass Mushroom Earrings – Silver Tone

A pair of handcrafted mushroom earrings made from copper, pewter, steel and luminous blue glass. Each elongated oval composition contains one sculptural mushroom, one rounded glass bead and delicate botanical forms.

One mushroom rises inside each open frame. Its smooth, individually shaped conical cap has no raised dots, creating a simple silver-tone forest silhouette.

A round translucent blue glass bead forms the main point of color in each earring. It rests on a separate slender stem and is finished with a small rounded metal accent.

Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the glass may appear pale aqua, turquoise blue, sky blue or softly milky.

A curved outer stem ends in an elongated seed-like bud. Its narrow sculptural form balances the blue bead on the opposite side of the composition.

Another fine stem ends in a smooth rounded droplet. The different stem heights create a gentle botanical rhythm inside the oval frame.

The stems emerge from a textured base created from tiny individual metal spheres. This irregular handmade surface resembles a miniature patch of forest soil from which the mushroom and botanical forms grow.

Small rounded metal accents appear along the fine oval frame, visually connecting the outer outline with the detailed base.

The two earrings form a coordinated, oppositely directed pair. They contain the same elements and proportions, but the mushroom caps and botanical stems face different directions rather than being mechanically identical.

The polished silver-tone finish reflects the light and emphasizes the fine stems, softly irregular mushroom caps and textured handmade connections. These earrings are silver in color but are not made from sterling silver.

Despite their detailed construction, the open design keeps the earrings visually light. They can be worn as woodland jewelry, subtle witchy earrings or small pieces of sculptural botanical art.

The version shown in the photographs has one smooth mushroom cap without dots, one blue glass bead and a silver-tone finish in each earring. Raised mushroom dots, another available glass color, a custom earring size or a black finish may be requested through personalization.

These earrings are designed as small wearable botanical objects, somewhere between jewelry, natural memories and personal symbols. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of solitary mushrooms, delicate seed pods and small fragments of blue light found among forest plants. I do not reproduce nature literally. I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its silver-tone appearance.

The glass may vary subtly in shape, transparency, internal texture and shade. These differences are natural characteristics of individually made glass elements.

Because every mushroom cap, curved stem, textured base and oval frame is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each pair individual.
