Blue Glass Mushroom Necklace – Blackened Copper Forest Centerpiece – Botanical

A handcrafted mushroom necklace made from copper, pewter, steel and luminous cobalt-blue glass. The open fan-shaped centerpiece features three sculptural mushrooms rising above one large round glass element.

Three mushrooms stand at different heights on slender, individually curved stems. Each has a smooth conical cap without raised dots, creating a delicate group of dark forest silhouettes.

A large round blue glass element forms the glowing base of the composition. It is surrounded by a textured setting of tiny metal spheres and irregular organic details.

Two fine metal stems curve across the front of the glass. One ends in a small rounded droplet, while the other rises toward an elongated seed-like bud.

Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the glass may appear vivid cobalt blue, ultramarine, sapphire, blue violet or a deeper midnight shade.

A separate slender stem rises between the mushrooms and ends in a polished round tip. This small detail introduces another level within the tall botanical composition.

Curved branches extend toward both sides of the centerpiece and finish in smooth metal droplets. Their flowing lines visually connect the mushroom scene with the chain attachments.

The necklace chain connects to two integrated rings positioned at the outer sides of the centerpiece. This two-point construction allows the decorative section to rest evenly across the neckline rather than turning like a pendant suspended from one loop.

The deep black finish emphasizes the smooth mushroom caps, delicate stems and intense blue glass. Depending on the light, the metal may appear matte black, dark graphite or softly metallic.

Despite its expressive color and detailed construction, the open spaces between the stems keep the necklace visually airy. It can be worn as woodland jewelry, witchy mushroom jewelry or a small piece of sculptural botanical art.

The version shown in the photographs has three smooth mushroom caps without dots, one cobalt-blue glass element and a black finish. Raised mushroom dots, another available glass color, a custom centerpiece size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

This necklace is designed as a wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of tall mushrooms, delicate forest stems and fragments of blue light found among woodland plants. I do not reproduce nature literally. I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The photographs confirm three smooth mushrooms, one large blue glass element and a two-point chain attachment.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass may vary subtly in outline, internal texture, transparency, bubbles and shade. These differences are natural characteristics of handmade glass elements.

Because every mushroom cap, curved stem, glass setting and side attachment is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each necklace individual.
