A handcrafted mushroom necklace made from copper, pewter, steel and blue glass. The airy openwork composition features three sculptural mushrooms rising above a luminous round glass element.
The mushrooms are arranged at different heights and have smooth, individually shaped caps without dots. Their slender curved stems create the impression of delicate forest fungi growing upward from the glass.
A large round pale aqua glass element forms the visual center of the necklace. Its smooth opaque surface is surrounded by a textured setting of tiny metal spheres and pointed organic details.
A smaller translucent glass bead rests higher among the stems. Its milky blue appearance introduces a softer second point of light within the dark metal composition.
Two rounded bud-like forms rise on separate curved stems at the sides. Long flowing lines connect the individual elements and give the necklace an airy, naturally asymmetrical silhouette.
Two handmade side rings connect the composition directly to the chain, allowing the necklace to rest naturally along the neckline.
Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the larger glass element may appear pale turquoise, mint blue or soft aqua, while the smaller bead may look milky white, translucent blue or slightly iridescent.
The deep black finish creates a dramatic contrast with the luminous glass and emphasizes the smooth mushroom caps, fine stems and textured setting.
The version shown in the photographs has three smooth mushroom caps without dots, two blue glass elements and a black finish. Raised mushroom dots, another available glass color, a custom pendant size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.
The necklace is designed as a small wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.
The design begins with impressions of slender mushrooms, curling forest plants and fragments of blue light found among moss and leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.
I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.
The glass elements are individually shaped, so subtle differences in their contours, internal texture, transparency and shade are natural characteristics of the handmade process.
Because every mushroom cap, curved stem, glass setting and decorative detail is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each necklace individual.

About Yadovito
