Clear Glass Mushroom Earrings – Blackened Copper Teardrop Dangles – Botanical Forest

A pair of handcrafted mushroom earrings made from copper, pewter, stainless steel and clear glass. Each open teardrop-shaped composition contains a miniature sculptural forest scene.

One slender mushroom rises inside each frame. Its smooth, individually shaped conical cap has no raised dots, giving the design a simple and delicate silhouette.

A small transparent glass bead appears on a separate curved stem. It catches the surrounding light and may reflect subtle green, pale yellow or silvery tones depending on the background and viewing angle.

Another fine stem ends in an elongated seed-like bud. Its dark sculptural form balances the clear glass without making the composition feel crowded.

A narrow inner stem curves upward and then returns toward the base, forming a soft open loop. Its rounded droplet-shaped ending introduces a gentle sense of movement.

The stems gather within a textured base created from tiny individual metal spheres. This irregular surface resembles a miniature patch of forest soil from which the mushroom and botanical forms emerge.

A thin teardrop-shaped frame surrounds the composition and leads into a small upper ring attached to the clasp. The open spaces keep the earrings visually light despite their detailed construction.

The earrings are arranged in opposite directions, forming a coordinated asymmetrical pair rather than two mechanically identical copies.

The deep black finish emphasizes the smooth mushroom caps, fine stems and transparent glass. Depending on the light, the metal may appear matte black, dark graphite or softly metallic.

The version shown in the photographs has one smooth mushroom cap without dots, one clear glass bead and a black finish in each earring. Raised mushroom dots, another available glass color, a custom earring size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

These earrings are designed as small wearable botanical objects, somewhere between jewelry, natural memories and personal symbols. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of solitary mushrooms, delicate seed pods and drops of light found among forest plants. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The photographs show one mushroom, one clear glass bead and a closed lever-back clasp on each earring rather than open ear wires.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass is individually shaped. Subtle differences in its contours, transparency, internal texture and reflections are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every mushroom cap, curved stem, textured base and teardrop frame is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each pair individual.
