Clear Glass Mushroom Hoop Earrings – Blackened Copper Round Forest Dangles – Botanical

A pair of handcrafted mushroom hoop earrings made from copper, pewter, stainless steel and clear glass. Each large circular composition contains three sculptural mushrooms, one luminous glass cabochon and a delicate arrangement of botanical stems.

Three mushrooms rise inside each open frame at different heights. Their smooth, individually shaped conical caps have no raised dots, creating a small group of dark woodland silhouettes.

A large round clear glass cabochon forms the luminous focal point near the lower edge of each earring. Its smooth domed surface is surrounded by an irregular handmade setting of tiny metal spheres.

Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the glass may appear crystal clear, softly smoky, pale champagne, silvery or touched by reflections from its surroundings.

The glass setting develops into a textured forest-floor base from which the mushroom stems and other botanical lines appear to grow.

One fine stem curls inward to form an open spiral with a rounded ending. This flowing shape introduces movement within the circular structure.

Additional stems end in small rounded droplets and elongated seed-like buds. Their varied heights create an airy botanical rhythm around the mushroom caps.

A fine circular frame surrounds the entire miniature forest scene and connects to an open hook ear wire through a small upper ring.

The two earrings share the same materials and general composition, but the direction and curvature of their stems differ. They form a coordinated handmade pair rather than two mechanically identical copies.

The deep black finish emphasizes the smooth mushroom caps, fine curved lines and transparent glass. Depending on the light, the metal may appear matte black, dark graphite or softly metallic.

Despite their expressive diameter, the open construction keeps the earrings visually airy. They can be worn as woodland jewelry, unusual mushroom hoops or small pieces of sculptural botanical art. The photographs also show how the approximately 5 cm circles appear when worn.

The version shown has three smooth mushroom caps without dots, one clear glass cabochon and a black finish in each earring. Raised mushroom dots, another available glass color, a custom earring size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

These earrings are designed as small wearable botanical objects, somewhere between jewelry, natural memories and personal symbols. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of mushroom colonies, curling shoots, seed pods and transparent drops of light found among forest plants. I do not reproduce nature literally. I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass is individually shaped. Subtle differences in its outline, internal texture, transparency, bubbles and reflections are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every mushroom cap, curved stem, circular frame and glass setting is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each pair individual.
