Clear Glass Mushroom Necklace – Blackened Copper & Pewter Botanical Pendant – Sculptural Forest

A handcrafted mushroom necklace made from copper, pewter, clear glass and steel. Two sculptural mushrooms rise on curved stems in front of a round transparent glass element, creating a small botanical composition framed by dark metal and delicate branching details.

Both mushrooms have smooth caps without dots. One rises higher with a pointed silhouette, while the other turns outward on a shorter curved stem. Their different heights and angles give the composition an asymmetrical, organic character.

The stems extend across the glass and gather at its lower edge. Tiny metal spheres surround the glass setting, contrasting with its smooth surface. Slender side branches end in rounded buds and connect the composition to the chain through two side rings.

The clear glass allows light and the background to become part of the design. Against skin or fabric, its appearance changes, bringing the dark mushroom silhouettes into focus.

The necklace is designed as a small wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of slender mushrooms, curling shoots and drops of light found among moss and fallen leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is darkened with patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finish to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The clear glass catches and reflects the surrounding light. Its transparency and reflections vary with the lighting, background and viewing angle.

The pictured version combines two smooth mushroom caps, clear glass and a black finish. Mushroom dots, another available glass color, a custom pendant size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

Because every mushroom cap, curved stem and glass setting is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, glass appearance and finish are natural and make each necklace individual.
