A pair of handcrafted asymmetrical bird earrings made from copper, pewter, cobalt blue glass and steel. One earring features a small sculptural bird above a round glass element, while the other combines matching glass with an elongated open loop.

The two different compositions are connected through the same materials, deep black finish and vivid blue glass. Together they form a balanced mismatched pair while allowing each earring to retain its own distinctive character.

The bird is individually shaped by hand, with a pointed beak, rounded body and gently extended tail. The second earring has a flowing teardrop-shaped loop that echoes the curves of the bird while keeping the pair visually light.

Each round glass element is surrounded by a textured setting of tiny metal spheres. The smooth luminous surface creates a striking contrast with the dark sculptural metalwork.

Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the glass may appear bright cobalt blue, electric blue or a deeper sapphire shade.

The compact size makes the earrings comfortable for everyday wear while preserving their distinctive sculptural details. Their intentionally different designs can also be combined easily with other mismatched jewelry.

The version shown in the photographs has cobalt blue glass and a black finish. Another available glass color, a custom earring size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

These earrings are designed as small wearable objects, somewhere between jewelry, natural memories and personal symbols. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with observations of small birds, fragments of blue sky and colored reflections found within the forest. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these impressions to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass elements are individually shaped. Small differences in their contours, internal texture and color are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every bird, open loop and glass setting is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the silhouettes, glass forms, dotted details and finish are natural and make each pair individual.

About Yadovito

Every form begins with a feeling.

Yadovito is an independent artist studio creating handcrafted nature jewelry and wearable art shaped by personal observations of the natural world. I do not try to reproduce nature exactly. I give form to a feeling — and invite others to find their own story in it.
