Cobalt Blue Glass Branch Earrings – Blackened Copper Asymmetrical Dangles – Botanical

A pair of handcrafted asymmetrical branch earrings made from copper, pewter, stainless steel and luminous cobalt-blue glass. Each elongated openwork composition resembles a delicate forest branch carrying dark berries, droplets and seed-like forms.

Five slender stems spread outward from a textured upper junction. One branch holds a large round cobalt-blue glass element, while two others end in smaller rounded dark blue glass beads.

The large glass element rests within a richly textured setting of tiny metal spheres. Its softly irregular handmade surface catches the light and creates a vivid focal point within the black botanical structure.

The two smaller glass beads appear at different heights along the curved branches. Their deep blue and blue-violet tones introduce additional movement and balance around the larger glass element.

The remaining branches end in sculptural metal details: one smooth rounded droplet and one elongated seed-like bud. These dark organic forms complement the glass without making the composition feel crowded.

Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the glass may appear cobalt blue, sapphire, ultramarine, deep navy or blue violet.

The two earrings form an intentionally asymmetrical pair. They share the same materials and visual rhythm, but the direction, spacing and arrangement of their branches differ.

The deep black finish emphasizes the fine curved lines, textured glass setting and rich blue color. Depending on the light, the metal may appear matte black, dark graphite or softly metallic.

Despite their expressive length, the open construction keeps the earrings visually light. They can be worn as woodland jewelry, contemporary botanical earrings or small pieces of sculptural wearable art.

The version shown in the photographs has three blue glass elements in each earring and a black finish. Another available glass color, a custom earring size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

These earrings are designed as small wearable botanical objects, somewhere between jewelry, natural memories and personal symbols. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of slender branches, dark berries, seed pods and fragments of blue light found within the natural world. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The photographs show three blue glass elements and a closed lever-back clasp on each earring rather than open ear wires.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass is melted in a special kiln and individually shaped. Subtle differences in its contours, internal texture, transparency and shades are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every branch, glass setting and sculptural metal ending is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each pair individual.
