Cobalt Blue Glass Branch Earrings – Blackened Copper Botanical Dangles – Nature Inspired

A pair of handcrafted botanical earrings made from copper, pewter, stainless steel and rich cobalt-blue glass. Each airy openwork composition resembles a delicate branch opening into a fan of curved stems.

Five slender branches spread outward from a textured upper junction. Four branches end in rounded blue glass beads, while the central stem carries an elongated sculptural metal seed pod.

The branches vary slightly in length and direction, creating a soft cascading rhythm. The glass elements move gently with the wearer and catch the surrounding light from different angles.

The deep cobalt glass may appear vivid blue, violet blue, sapphire or almost indigo depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle.

Each glass bead is finished with a small rounded metal detail. These subtle endings visually connect the luminous glass with the dark botanical structure.

The central seed-pod form is built from individually shaped metal dots. Its textured surface introduces a tactile organic contrast to the smooth glass beads.

The deep black finish emphasizes the fine curved lines and gives the earrings a dramatic woodland character. Despite their expressive width, the open construction keeps them visually light.

The two earrings form a coordinated, oppositely directed pair. Their compositions are related but not mechanically identical, preserving the natural character of the handmade work.

The version shown in the photographs has cobalt-blue glass and a black finish. Another available glass color, a custom earring size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

These earrings are designed as small wearable botanical objects, somewhere between jewelry, natural memories and personal symbols. Each metal component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of arching branches, berries, seed pods and drops of colored light found within the natural world. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The photographs show four glass beads, one textured metal pod and a closed lever-back clasp on each earring.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass is melted in a special kiln and individually shaped. Subtle differences in the beads’ contours, internal texture, transparency and shade are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every branch, glass setting and textured seed pod is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each pair individual.
