Cobalt Blue Glass Branch Earrings – Silver Tone

A pair of handcrafted asymmetrical branch earrings made from copper, pewter, steel and luminous cobalt-blue glass. Each elongated composition resembles a delicate botanical branch carrying drops of deep blue light.

Five slender stems spread outward from a textured upper junction. Two branches hold large rounded glass elements, one ends in a smaller bright blue glass bead, and two are finished with smooth sculptural metal droplets.

The two larger glass elements are positioned at different heights, creating an organic cascading arrangement. Their rounded handmade forms are surrounded by textured metal settings with small decorative spheres.

The smaller glass bead introduces a brighter turquoise-blue accent near the lower edge of each composition. Its subtle movement adds another point of light when the earrings are worn.

Two unadorned branches end in individually shaped metal droplets: one small and rounded, the other longer and seed-like. These details balance the blue glass without making the design feel crowded.

Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the larger glass elements may appear cobalt blue, sapphire, violet blue or almost midnight blue, while the smaller beads may shift toward turquoise or bright aqua.

The polished silver-tone finish reflects the light and emphasizes the fine curved branches, textured glass settings and handmade connections. These earrings are silver in color but are not made from sterling silver.

The two earrings form a coordinated asymmetrical pair. Their branches follow the same visual rhythm but curve in opposite directions, preserving the natural individuality of the handmade design.

Despite their expressive length, the open construction keeps the earrings visually light. They can be worn as woodland jewelry, contemporary botanical earrings or small pieces of sculptural wearable art.

The version shown in the photographs has cobalt-blue glass and a silver-tone finish. Another available glass color, a custom earring size or a black finish may be requested through personalization.

These earrings are designed as small wearable botanical objects, somewhere between jewelry, natural memories and personal symbols. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of slender branches, berries, seed pods and drops of blue light found within the natural world. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The photographs show three blue glass elements and a closed lever-back clasp on each earring.

The metal is carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its silver-tone appearance.

The glass is melted in a special kiln and individually shaped. Subtle differences in its contours, internal texture, transparency and shade are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every branch, glass setting and metal droplet is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each pair individual.
