Available on request: another available glass color, adjusted flower details, a custom hair pin size or a silver-tone finish.

A handcrafted poppy hair pin made from copper, pewter, cobalt blue glass and steel. The sculptural botanical composition features slender curved stems ending in stylized poppy flowers, rounded seed pods, delicate buds and luminous glass elements.

Two dark sculptural poppy seed pods rise above the composition and are finished with small crown-like details. Larger cobalt-blue glass elements suggest glowing flower heads, while smaller glass beads trace the outer stems and add bright points of color throughout the design.

One round blue glass element rests near the center within a textured setting of tiny metal spheres. Flowing lines, small buds and a single spiral create movement and give the hair pin the appearance of a miniature wildflower meadow.

The intense blue glass creates a vivid contrast with the deep black metal. Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the glass may appear cobalt blue, violet blue or deep ultramarine.

The lower section develops into two long, gently wavy prongs designed to slide into a bun, twist or another pinned hairstyle. The open construction gives the piece an expressive silhouette while keeping the composition visually airy.

The version shown in the photographs has cobalt-blue glass and a black finish. Another available glass color, adjusted flower details, a custom hair pin size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

The hair pin can be worn as a distinctive botanical accessory for everyday hairstyles, festivals, fantasy styling, photo shoots or special occasions.

It is designed as a small wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of poppies, wildflower stems, seed pods and fragments of blue light found among summer plants. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass elements are individually shaped. Small differences in their contours, internal texture and shades are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every flower, seed pod, stem and glass element is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, glass forms and finish are natural and make each hair pin unique.
