Four Mushroom Crescent Collar Necklace – Blackened Copper

A large handcrafted mushroom arc necklace made from copper, pewter and stainless steel. The wide crescent-shaped centerpiece frames a miniature forest of four sculptural mushrooms, curling stems and delicate seed-like forms.

Four mushrooms rise from the textured lower section at different heights. Their changing proportions and directions create the impression of a small imaginary colony growing across the curved frame.

Each mushroom has a smooth, individually shaped conical cap without raised dots. The tallest mushroom stands near the center, while three smaller mushrooms appear around it.

Two slender stems positioned near the outer edges end in elongated seed-like buds. Their narrow textured forms help extend the botanical composition across the full width of the necklace.

Several additional stems rise between the mushrooms and finish in smooth rounded droplets. Their varied heights create a light, rhythmic silhouette.

Two fine shoots curl inward to form open spirals. These flowing lines introduce movement and contrast with the strong structural curve of the outer frame.

A separate branching botanical form appears toward one side of the composition. Its multiple rounded tips resemble a tiny seed head or an abstract forest flower.

The mushrooms and stems emerge from a richly textured base formed from many small handmade metal spheres. This irregular surface resembles a miniature strip of forest soil or moss.

The outer structure is a strong curved metal arc with integrated rings at both ends. The necklace chain attaches to these two rings, allowing the wide centerpiece to rest evenly across the neckline rather than hanging vertically like a conventional pendant.

The deep black finish emphasizes the smooth mushroom caps, fine botanical lines and layered texture of the lower section. Depending on the lighting, the metal may appear matte black, dark graphite or softly metallic.

Despite its substantial width, the open construction keeps the necklace visually airy. The spaces between the stems allow the design to remain delicate rather than visually heavy.

This is an expressive statement necklace that can be worn as woodland jewelry, a witchy mushroom collar or a sculptural piece of botanical wearable art.

The version shown in the photographs has four smooth mushroom caps without dots and a black finish. Raised mushroom dots, a custom centerpiece size, another chain length or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

This necklace is designed as a wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of mushroom colonies, curling shoots, seed heads and fine plants growing together along the forest floor. I do not reproduce nature literally. I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The current personalization should be corrected because the necklace contains no glass.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

Because every mushroom cap, curved stem, textured section and outer frame is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each necklace individual.
