Frosted Clear Glass Mushroom Necklace – Blackened Copper

A handcrafted mushroom necklace made from copper, pewter, clear glass and steel. The airy openwork composition features three sculptural mushrooms rising on long, gently curved stems above a large round glass element.

The frosted clear glass forms the luminous center of the necklace. It rests within a richly textured setting of tiny metal spheres and pointed organic details, creating a soft contrast with the deep black metalwork.

The three mushrooms are arranged at different heights and have smooth, individually shaped caps without dots. A small translucent glass bead and two rounded bud-like forms add delicate points of light and balance to the composition.

The flowing stems curve around the glass and extend toward two handmade side rings. The chain connects directly to these rings, allowing the necklace to rest naturally along the neckline.

The matte glass gently diffuses the surrounding light. Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, it may appear frosted white, softly smoky, pale blush or almost transparent.

The open structure keeps the necklace visually light while emphasizing its unusual botanical silhouette. The combination of delicate mushrooms, luminous glass and dark metal gives the piece a mysterious woodland character.

The version shown in the photographs has three smooth mushroom caps without dots, frosted clear glass and a black finish. Dotted caps, another available glass color, a custom pendant size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

The necklace is designed as a small wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of slender mushrooms, curling forest plants and drops of pale light found among moss and fallen leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass elements are individually shaped. Small differences in their contours, internal texture, transparency and reflections are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every mushroom cap, stem and glass setting is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, glass forms and finish are natural and make each necklace individual.
