Green Glass Amanita Hoop Earrings – Blackened Copper

A pair of handcrafted mushroom hoop earrings made from copper, pewter, steel and vivid green glass. Each circular openwork composition features four sculptural mushrooms and a small botanical bud growing above a luminous glass element.

One mushroom in each earring has a broad cap decorated with individually formed raised dots. Three additional mushrooms have smooth, softly shaped caps and rise on slender stems of different heights.

A small rounded bud appears among the mushrooms, adding another organic form without making the composition feel crowded.

The bright green glass rests at the base of each hoop within a textured setting of tiny metal spheres and pointed sculptural details. It creates a vivid focal point against the deep black metalwork.

Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the transparent glass may appear emerald green, vivid grass green or a deeper forest shade.

The mushroom stems curve upward and spread naturally across the circular space. Their varied heights create the impression of a miniature fungi garden enclosed within each hoop.

The open construction keeps the earrings visually light despite their expressive size. The circular frames emphasize the flowing stems while allowing the skin, hair or clothing behind them to become part of the composition.

The two earrings form a coordinated handmade pair. Small differences in the curves, mushroom caps, raised dots and glass settings are natural and preserve the organic character of the design.

The version shown in the photographs has one dotted mushroom cap, three smooth caps, green glass and a black finish in each earring. Different mushroom details, another available glass color, a custom earring size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

These earrings are designed as small wearable botanical objects, somewhere between jewelry, natural memories and personal symbols. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of mushroom clusters, fine forest stems and fragments of green light found among moss and fallen leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The photographs show closed lever-back clasps rather than open ear wires.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass elements are individually shaped, so subtle differences in their contours, internal texture, transparency and shade are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every mushroom cap, raised dot, curved stem, circular frame and glass setting is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each pair individual.
