Green Glass Asymmetrical Branch Earrings – Blackened Copper

A pair of handcrafted asymmetrical branch earrings made from copper, pewter, green glass and steel. Each sculptural composition develops from slender curved lines inspired by delicate tree branches, young shoots and rounded forest buds.

One large round green glass element rests near the lower edge of each earring within a textured setting of tiny metal spheres. Two smaller faceted green glass beads add bright points of color among the flowing dark branches.

The earrings share the same materials and visual language but are intentionally different. Their varied curves, branch arrangements and decorative details create a balanced mismatched pair rather than exact mirror images.

Small rounded endings resemble buds, berries or drops of water suspended from the branches. Open spaces between the lines keep the earrings visually light and allow them to move gently when worn.

The vivid green glass creates a striking contrast with the deep black metal. Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, it may appear emerald green, turquoise green or a deeper forest shade.

The version shown in the photographs has green glass and a black finish. Another available glass color, a custom earring size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

These earrings are designed as small wearable botanical objects, somewhere between jewelry, natural memories and personal symbols. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with observations of thin branches, new forest growth and fragments of green light found among leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these impressions to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass is melted in a special kiln and individually shaped. Small differences in its contours, internal texture and color are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every branch, glass setting and decorative detail is shaped and assembled by hand, slight variations in the curves, spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each pair individual.
