A handcrafted mushroom hair pin made from copper, pewter, green glass and steel. The sculptural composition surrounds a luminous round glass element with several mushrooms on long curved stems, delicate buds and a flowing spiral detail.
The U-shaped hair pin is designed as a functional wearable object for buns, twists and other updo hairstyles. Each element is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.
The design begins with impressions of mushroom clusters, delicate stems and small forms growing together on the forest floor. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.
I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is darkened with patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finish to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.
The green glass catches and reflects the surrounding light and may appear lighter, darker or slightly different in tone depending on the lighting and background.
Because every Yadovito piece is made by hand, small differences in mushroom shapes, stem curves, glass appearance and finish are natural and make each hair pin individual.

About Yadovito
Every form begins with a feeling.
Yadovito is an independent artist studio creating handcrafted nature jewelry and wearable art shaped by personal observations of the natural world. I do not try to reproduce nature exactly. I give form to a feeling — and invite others to find their own story in it.
