Green Glass Mushroom Hair Pin – Blackened Copper Forest Hair Fork – Witchy Botanical

A handcrafted mushroom hair pin made from copper, pewter, green glass and steel. The sculptural composition features four individually shaped mushroom caps rising on long, gently curved stems around a luminous round glass element.

The green glass forms the visual center of the design. It is surrounded by a textured setting of tiny metal spheres, creating a rich contrast between the smooth translucent glass and the deep black metalwork.

The mushrooms are arranged at different heights and combined with delicate bud-like details and a flowing spiral. Together, these organic forms create the impression of a small fungi garden growing from the top of the hair pin.

The lower section develops into two long, gently wavy prongs designed to slide into a bun, twist or another pinned hairstyle. The open construction gives the piece an expressive silhouette without making it appear visually heavy.

The version shown in the photographs has smooth mushroom caps without dots, green glass and a black finish. Dotted caps, another available glass color, a custom hair pin size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

The hair pin can be worn as a distinctive forest-inspired accessory for everyday hairstyles, festivals, fantasy styling, photo shoots or special occasions.

It is designed as a small wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of mushroom clusters, curling forest plants and fragments of green light found among moss and fallen leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The green glass catches and reflects the surrounding light. Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, its shade may appear bright emerald, blue-green or a deeper forest green.

Because every mushroom cap, stem, glass setting and botanical detail is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, glass form and finish are natural and make each hair pin unique.
