A handcrafted mushroom hairpin made from copper, pewter, green glass and steel. The sculptural composition features four individually shaped mushroom caps rising on long, gently curved stems above a luminous oval glass element.
Three small round green glass beads are placed among the dark botanical lines, adding bright points of color at different heights. Delicate buds, rounded metal details and flowing stems complete the miniature forest composition.
The oval green glass forms the visual center of the hairpin. It is surrounded by a textured setting of tiny metal spheres, creating a rich contrast between the smooth translucent glass and the blackened handmade metalwork.
The mushrooms and botanical elements spread outward like a small forest crown, while the long two-prong base slides into the hair. The open construction gives the piece an expressive silhouette without appearing visually heavy.
The version shown in the photographs has smooth mushroom caps without dots. Dotted caps, another available glass color, a different size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.
The hairpin can be used to decorate a bun, twist or other pinned hairstyle. Its sculptural design makes it suitable for everyday forest-inspired styling, festivals, fantasy outfits, photo shoots or special occasions.
The hairpin is designed as a small wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each element is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.
The design begins with impressions of slender mushrooms, young shoots and fragments of green light found among moss and forest plants. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.
I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.
The glass is melted in a special kiln and shaped individually. Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, its shade may appear bright lime green, translucent leaf green or a deeper forest green.
Because every mushroom cap, stem, glass element and decorative detail is individually shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, glass forms and finish are natural and make each hairpin unique.
