Green Glass Mushroom Necklace – Blackened Copper & Pewter Botanical Pendant – Sculptural Forest

A handcrafted mushroom necklace made from copper, pewter, green glass and stainless steel. Three sculptural mushrooms rise on long curved stems above a luminous green glass element, forming an open botanical composition with a dark, flowing silhouette.

The tallest mushroom stands between two smaller forms. Their smooth caps have no dots, allowing the changing angles and proportions to define their character. Slender shoots curl between the stems and end in rounded buds.

One long stem crosses the front of the glass, connecting the upper mushroom forms with the textured setting below. Small metal spheres frame the green element, while open spaces between the branches keep the composition airy. The chain attaches at two side rings, becoming part of the necklace’s outline.

The pendant is designed as a small wearable object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each piece is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

My work begins with impressions of mushrooms, curling shoots and small forms growing together on the forest floor. I do not reproduce nature literally. I let these observations guide the material until a new form appears.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The composition develops through making — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is darkened with patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finish to help protect its surface.

The green glass catches the surrounding light. Its transparency, small internal bubbles and reflections become more or less visible depending on the background and viewing angle.

Because every piece is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in mushroom forms, stem curves, glass appearance and finish are natural and make each necklace individual.
