Green Glass Mushroom Necklace – Blackened Copper Forest Centerpiece – Botanical

A handcrafted mushroom necklace made from copper, pewter, stainless steel and vivid green glass. The open fan-shaped centerpiece features three sculptural mushrooms rising above one luminous round glass element.

Three mushrooms stand at different heights on long, individually curved stems. Each has a smooth conical cap without raised dots, creating a delicate group of dark forest silhouettes.

A large round green glass element forms the glowing base of the composition. It is surrounded by a textured setting of tiny metal spheres and pointed organic details resembling young shoots emerging from the forest floor.

One of the longest mushroom stems passes across the front of the glass, visually connecting the bright central element with the upper part of the necklace.

Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the glass may appear vivid lime green, olive, moss green, yellow-green or a deeper forest shade. Its internal texture becomes especially visible when the light passes through it.

A narrow central stem ends in an elongated seed-like bud. Two additional curved stems finish in small rounded droplets, creating movement around the mushroom silhouettes.

The outer botanical lines extend toward integrated rings on both sides of the centerpiece. The necklace chain attaches at these two points, allowing the decorative section to rest evenly across the neckline rather than hanging from a single pendant loop.

The deep black finish emphasizes the smooth mushroom caps, delicate stems and luminous green glass. Depending on the light, the metal may appear matte black, dark graphite or softly metallic.

Despite its detailed construction, the open spaces between the stems keep the necklace visually airy. It can be worn as woodland jewelry, an unusual mushroom talisman or a small piece of sculptural botanical art.

The version shown in the photographs has three smooth mushroom caps without dots, one green glass element and a black finish. Raised mushroom dots, another available glass color, a custom centerpiece size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

This necklace is designed as a wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of tall mushrooms, fine forest stems and fragments of green light found among moss and woodland plants. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass is melted in a special kiln and individually shaped. Subtle differences in its contours, internal texture, bubbles, transparency and shade are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every mushroom cap, curved stem, glass setting and side attachment is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each necklace individual.
