Green Glass Mushroom Necklace – Blackened Copper Forest Pendant – Botanical Fungi

A handcrafted mushroom necklace made from copper, pewter, green glass and steel. The open botanical composition features two sculptural mushrooms rising above a luminous oval glass element.

The mushrooms are positioned at different heights and have smooth, individually shaped caps without dots. Their long, gently curved stems cross over the glass, creating an airy and naturally asymmetrical silhouette.

The vivid green glass forms the visual center of the necklace. It rests within a textured setting of tiny metal spheres that emphasizes its rounded shape and creates a rich contrast with the deep black metalwork.

A small rounded bud rises between the mushrooms. Delicate side branches extend outward from the glass setting and end in droplet-shaped details, giving the composition the appearance of an imaginary forest plant.

Two handmade side rings connect the pendant directly to the chain, allowing the necklace to rest naturally along the neckline. The open spaces between the stems and branches keep the design visually light.

Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the glass may appear bright emerald, vivid grass green, turquoise green or a deeper forest shade.

The version shown in the photographs has two smooth mushroom caps without dots, green glass and a black finish. Raised mushroom dots, another available glass color, a custom pendant size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

The necklace is designed as a small wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of slender mushrooms, new forest growth and fragments of green light found among moss and leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass element is individually shaped. Small differences in its contours, internal texture, reflections and shade are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every mushroom cap, curved stem, branch and glass setting is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, glass form and finish are natural and make each necklace individual.
