Large Mushroom Hoop Earrings – Blackened Copper

A pair of large handcrafted mushroom hoop earrings made from copper, pewter and steel. Each open circular composition contains three sculptural mushrooms, delicate curved stems and small botanical details.

Three mushrooms rise inside each round frame at different heights. Their changing proportions and directions create the impression of a miniature mushroom colony growing from the forest floor.

Each mushroom has a smooth, hand-sculpted conical cap without raised dots. The softly irregular contours preserve the organic character of the handmade design.

The tallest mushrooms rise toward the upper half of the hoops, while smaller mushrooms appear closer to the sides and textured lower section.

Several fine botanical stems curve through the open space between the mushrooms. Some end in smooth rounded droplets, while others form elongated seed-like buds.

The different curves and heights create a light, flowing rhythm within the circular frames without making the compositions feel crowded.

All of the stems emerge from a richly textured base formed from many small handmade metal spheres. This irregular surface resembles a miniature fragment of forest soil or moss.

Small rounded accents also appear along the outer hoops, visually connecting the fine circular frames with the textured lower sections.

The two earrings form a coordinated but intentionally individual pair. They share the same number of mushrooms and the same overall visual language, while the curves, spacing and direction of the elements differ naturally.

Each circular frame connects to an open hook ear wire through a small upper ring, allowing the earrings to move gently when worn.

The deep black finish emphasizes the smooth mushroom caps, slender stems and open spaces. Depending on the lighting, the metal may appear matte black, dark graphite or softly metallic, with subtle warm copper highlights.

There are no glass elements, pearls or gemstones in this design. Its character comes entirely from hand-shaped metal, botanical lines and the contrast between the strong circular frames and delicate internal forms.

Despite their expressive diameter, the open construction keeps the earrings visually airy. They can be worn as woodland jewelry, witchy mushroom hoops or sculptural botanical wearable art.

The version shown has three smooth mushroom caps without dots in each earring and a blackened finish. Raised mushroom dots, a custom earring size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

Because these earrings are made to order, the pair you receive will not be an exact mechanical copy of the photographed example. Small differences in the curves, spacing, mushroom shapes and finish are natural and make every pair individual.

These earrings are designed as small wearable botanical objects, somewhere between jewelry, natural memories and personal symbols. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of mushroom colonies, curling shoots and tiny seed forms growing together along the forest floor. I do not reproduce nature literally. I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

Because every mushroom cap, curved stem, textured base and circular frame is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each pair individual.
