Mushroom Heart Earrings

A pair of handcrafted mushroom heart earrings made from copper, pewter, steel and vivid green glass. Each openwork composition features two sculptural mushrooms and delicate botanical forms enclosed within a flowing heart-shaped frame.

The two mushrooms rise at different heights and have smooth, individually shaped conical caps without raised dots. Their slender curved stems create a small asymmetrical fungi scene inside each heart.

A large round green glass element forms the luminous focal point at the base of each earring. It is held within a textured setting of tiny metal spheres and pointed organic details resembling new growth emerging from the forest floor.

A smaller faceted green glass bead appears on a separate curved stem. Its bright translucent surface introduces a second point of color and catches the light as the earrings move.

One slender botanical line ends in a smooth rounded bud. Together with the mushrooms and glass elements, it creates the impression of an imaginary forest plant growing within the heart.

The heart outline is formed from long, continuous metal curves that meet near the textured glass setting. The open structure keeps the earrings visually light despite their expressive width.

Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the glass may appear vivid emerald, bright grass green, turquoise green or a deeper forest shade.

The polished silver-tone finish emphasizes the smooth mushroom caps, delicate stems and luminous glass. These earrings are silver in color but are not made from sterling silver.

The two earrings form a coordinated, oppositely directed pair. Their compositions follow the same visual rhythm but are not mechanically identical, preserving the organic character of the handmade design.

The version shown in the photographs has two smooth mushroom caps without dots, two green glass elements and a silver-tone finish in each earring. Raised mushroom dots, another available glass color, a custom earring size or a black finish may be requested through personalization.

These earrings are designed as small wearable botanical objects, somewhere between jewelry, natural memories and personal symbols. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of slender mushrooms, curling forest stems and fragments of green light found among moss and leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its silver-tone appearance.

The glass is melted in a special kiln and individually shaped. Subtle differences in its contours, internal texture, transparency and shade are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every mushroom cap, curved stem, heart frame and glass setting is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each pair individual.
