Red Glass Amanita Mushroom Necklace – Blackened Copper & Pewter Forest Pendant – Botanical

A handcrafted amanita mushroom pendant necklace made from copper, pewter, red glass and stainless steel. The airy sculptural composition features three mushrooms rising on long, gently curved stems above a luminous round glass element.

The central mushroom has a broad cap decorated with individually formed raised dots, while the two smaller mushrooms have smooth, softly pointed caps. Their different heights and shapes create an asymmetrical miniature fungi garden.

The large red glass element rests at the base of the pendant within a textured setting of tiny metal spheres and pointed organic details. A small faceted red glass bead adds another bright accent among the flowing dark stems.

Delicate bud-like forms and rounded endings complete the composition. The open spaces between the stems keep the pendant visually light while emphasizing its unusual botanical silhouette.

The contrast between vivid red glass and deep black metal gives the necklace a mysterious woodland character. Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the glass may appear bright scarlet, cherry red or deeper ruby.

The version shown in the photographs combines one dotted mushroom cap with two smooth caps, red glass and a black finish. Different mushroom details, another available glass color, a custom pendant size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

The pendant is designed as a small wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of mushroom clusters, curling stems and glowing red fragments found among moss and fallen leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass is melted in a special kiln and individually shaped. Small differences in its contours, internal texture and shade are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every mushroom cap, dot, stem and glass setting is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, glass forms and finish are natural and make each necklace individual.
