Red Glass Bird Necklace – Blackened Copper & Pewter Woodland Pendant – Boho

A handcrafted bird pendant necklace made from copper, pewter, red glass and stainless steel. The small sculptural composition features a stylized black bird resting above a luminous oval glass element.

The bird is individually shaped by hand, with a pointed beak, rounded body and gently extended tail. Its simple expressive silhouette captures the character of a small woodland bird without reproducing a particular species literally.

The vivid red glass is surrounded by a textured setting of tiny metal spheres. Its smooth translucent surface creates a striking contrast with the deep black finish of the sculptural metalwork.

Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the glass may appear bright scarlet, cherry red, deep ruby or slightly reflective.

The compact size makes the necklace easy to wear while allowing the bird silhouette and glowing glass to remain clearly visible. It can be worn as an everyday nature-inspired pendant or as a small piece of sculptural wearable art.

The version shown has red glass and a black finish. Other available glass colors, a custom pendant size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

The pendant is designed as a small wearable object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with observations of small birds, forest shadows and glowing fragments of color found within the natural world. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these impressions to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass is melted in a special kiln and individually shaped. Small differences in its contours, internal texture and shade are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every bird and glass setting is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the silhouette, glass form, dotted details and finish are natural and make each necklace individual.

Packaging

Your order will be packed with care in a kraft gift box, decorated with themed stickers and dried flowers, ready for gifting or keeping as a personal piece.
