Red Glass Mushroom Earrings – Blackened Copper & Pewter Forest Dangles – Botanical

A pair of handcrafted mushroom earrings made from copper, pewter, red glass and steel. Each airy sculptural composition combines a smooth conical mushroom cap with a luminous round glass element on two long, gently curved stems.

The mushroom and glass rise at slightly different heights, creating an organic asymmetrical silhouette. The flowing stems cross near the lower part of each earring and develop into a delicate openwork structure finished with small rounded metal details.

The vivid red glass creates a striking focal point against the deep black metal. Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, it may appear bright scarlet, cherry red, deep ruby or softly translucent.

The two earrings form a coordinated pair, with the compositions arranged in opposite directions. Every mushroom cap, stem and glass setting is individually shaped and assembled by hand, so subtle differences are a natural part of the design.

The open construction keeps the earrings visually light and allows them to move gently when worn. Their elongated botanical form combines a mysterious forest character with a simple, expressive silhouette.

The version shown in the photographs has smooth mushroom caps without dots, red glass and a black finish. Dotted caps, another available glass color, a custom earring size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

These earrings are designed as small wearable botanical objects, somewhere between jewelry, natural memories and personal symbols. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of solitary mushrooms, delicate stems and glowing red fragments found among moss and fallen leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass elements are individually shaped. Small differences in their contours, internal texture and shades are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every mushroom cap, curved stem and glass setting is formed and assembled by hand, slight variations in spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each pair individual.
