Red Glass Mushroom Hoop Earrings – Blackened Copper Forest Dangles – Botanical

A pair of handcrafted mushroom hoop earrings made from copper, pewter, stainless steel and deep red glass. Each circular openwork composition contains two sculptural mushrooms growing among delicate curved stems and botanical forms.

Two mushrooms rise at different heights inside each round frame. Their smooth, individually shaped conical caps have no raised dots, creating simple dark silhouettes against the open background.

A large rounded dark red glass element forms the main focal point near the lower edge of each earring. It rests within a richly textured setting of tiny metal spheres and irregular organic details.

A smaller round red glass bead appears higher on a separate slender stem. Its translucent surface catches the light and creates a second, more delicate point of color.

Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the glass may appear ruby red, garnet, burgundy, dark cherry or almost brown-black.

A tall curved stem ends in an elongated seed-like bud. Another line curls inward to form an open spiral, while additional stems finish in small rounded droplets.

The fine circular frame surrounds the miniature forest scene and connects to a small upper ring beneath the clasp. The open spaces between the elements keep the earrings visually airy despite their expressive diameter.

The two earrings form a coordinated, oppositely directed pair. Their arrangement follows the same botanical rhythm, but small handmade differences preserve the organic character of the design.

The deep black finish emphasizes the smooth mushroom caps, fine curved stems and luminous red glass. Depending on the light, the metal may appear matte black, dark graphite or softly metallic.

The version shown in the photographs has two smooth mushroom caps without dots, two red glass elements and a black finish in each earring. Raised mushroom dots, another available glass color, a custom earring size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

These earrings are designed as small wearable botanical objects, somewhere between jewelry, natural memories and personal symbols. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of small mushroom colonies, curling shoots and dark drops of red light found among forest plants. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass is melted in a special kiln and individually shaped. Subtle differences in its contours, internal texture, bubbles, transparency and shade are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every mushroom cap, curved stem, circular frame and glass setting is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each pair individual.
