Red Glass Mushroom Necklace – Blackened Copper & Pewter Forest Pendant – Botanical

A handcrafted mushroom pendant necklace made from copper, pewter, red glass and stainless steel. The elongated openwork composition features two sculptural mushrooms rising on long, gently curved stems around a luminous round glass element.

One mushroom cap is decorated with raised dots, while the second has a smooth, softly pointed surface. Their different shapes and heights create an asymmetrical silhouette inspired by mushrooms growing naturally among forest plants.

The vivid red glass rests between the stems within a textured setting of tiny metal spheres. Its bright color creates a striking focal point against the deep black finish of the surrounding metalwork.

The flowing stems cross and intertwine through the center of the pendant. The lower section develops into an airy openwork structure decorated with small rounded metal details, a textured cluster of tiny spheres and two droplet-shaped endings.

Despite its elongated proportions and detailed construction, the open structure keeps the pendant visually light. It can be worn as an everyday forest-inspired necklace or as an unusual piece of sculptural wearable art.

The version shown combines one dotted mushroom cap with one smooth cap. Different mushroom details, another available glass color, a custom pendant size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

The pendant is designed as a small wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of slender mushrooms, tangled stems and glowing red fragments found among moss and fallen leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass is melted in a special kiln and individually shaped. Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, its shade may appear bright scarlet, cherry red or deeper ruby.

Because every mushroom cap, stem and glass setting is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, dots, glass form, proportions and finish are natural and make each necklace individual.

Packaging

Your order will be packed with care in a kraft gift box, decorated with themed stickers and dried flowers, ready for gifting or keeping as a personal piece.
