Red Glass Mushroom Necklace – Blackened Copper Round Forest Pendant – Botanical

A handcrafted mushroom pendant necklace made from copper, pewter, steel and luminous red glass. The circular openwork composition features three sculptural mushrooms growing above a richly textured glass setting.

Three mushrooms rise at different heights on slender curved stems. Each has a smooth, individually shaped conical cap without raised dots, creating a delicate group of dark forest silhouettes.

A large rounded oval red glass element forms the glowing base of the pendant. It is surrounded by an irregular setting of tiny metal spheres resembling an imaginary patch of forest soil.

Two smaller round red glass beads appear on separate curved stems. One is positioned near the upper left side of the composition, while the second rests closer to the center.

Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the glass may appear scarlet, ruby red, garnet, burgundy, dark cherry or a deeper wine-colored shade.

Two slender botanical stems end in elongated seed-like buds. Their smooth dark forms balance the bright glass and introduce additional height within the circular frame.

Another fine stem curls inward to form an open spiral and ends in a small rounded droplet. This flowing line adds movement to the lower central part of the composition.

The thin round frame surrounds the miniature forest scene and leads into an integrated pendant loop at the top. The necklace hangs vertically from this single central attachment point.

The deep black finish emphasizes the smooth mushroom caps, delicate stems and vivid red glass. Depending on the light, the metal may appear matte black, dark graphite or softly metallic.

Despite its expressive diameter and detailed construction, the open spaces between the stems keep the pendant visually airy. It can be worn as woodland jewelry, an unusual mushroom talisman or a small piece of sculptural botanical art.

The version shown in the photographs has three smooth mushroom caps without dots, three red glass elements and a black finish. Raised mushroom dots, other available glass colors, a custom pendant size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

The pendant is designed as a small wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of slender mushrooms, seed pods and fragments of red light found among moss and woodland plants. I do not reproduce nature literally. I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The photographs confirm three mushrooms, one large red glass element, two smaller red beads and a single upper chain attachment.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass is melted in a special kiln and individually shaped. Subtle differences in its outline, internal texture, bubbles, transparency and shade are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every mushroom cap, curved stem, circular frame and glass setting is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, glass forms and finish are natural and make each necklace individual.

Packaging
