A handcrafted mushroom brooch made from copper, pewter, red stained glass and steel. The sculptural composition combines three mushrooms on long curved stems with a luminous oval glass element, a smaller round red glass detail and flowing organic metal forms.
The darkened metal creates a striking contrast with the translucent red glass, while the delicate stems and asymmetrical arrangement give the piece a sense of natural movement.
The brooch is designed as a small wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each element is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.
The design begins with impressions of delicate mushrooms, thin stems and small forms growing together among moss and fallen leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.
I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is darkened with patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finish to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.
The red glass is melted in a kiln, creating subtle variations in shape, texture and color. It may appear bright red, deep crimson or slightly orange depending on the lighting and background.
Because every Yadovito piece is made by hand, small differences in mushroom shapes, stem curves, glass appearance and finish are natural and make each brooch individual.

About Yadovito
Every form begins with a feeling.
Yadovito is an independent artist studio creating handcrafted nature jewelry and wearable art shaped by personal observations of the natural world. I do not try to reproduce nature exactly. I give form to a feeling — and invite others to find their own story in it.
