A handcrafted mushroom brooch made from copper, pewter and steel. The minimal sculptural design combines a smooth textured mushroom cap with a long slender stem that becomes part of the fastening mechanism.

Light and comfortable to wear, the brooch adds a delicate forest-inspired accent to jackets, scarves, bags and other accessories. Each piece is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of small forest mushrooms, slender stems and quiet forms found among moss, bark and fallen leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

Because every Yadovito piece is made by hand, small differences in mushroom shape, cap texture, stem curve and finish are natural and make each brooch individual.

About Yadovito

Every form begins with a feeling.

Yadovito is an independent artist studio creating handcrafted nature jewelry and wearable art shaped by personal observations of the natural world. I do not try to reproduce nature exactly. I give form to a feeling — and invite others to find their own story in it.
