Silver Tone Poppy Seed Pod Earrings

A pair of handcrafted poppy seed pod earrings made from copper, pewter and steel. Each elongated openwork composition features two sculptural seed pods rising on slender, gently curved stems.

The rounded pods are positioned at different heights and finished with small textured crowns formed from individual metal dots. Their softly irregular shapes preserve the organic character of the handmade design.

The long stems curve inward and cross near the lower section of each earring. This flowing structure creates a light botanical silhouette inspired by dried poppies, seed heads and delicate plants found in meadows and woodland edges.

Below the crossing stems, an elongated open loop leads into a textured cluster of tiny metal spheres. Two rounded droplet-shaped endings complete the composition and add gentle movement when the earrings are worn.

The polished silver-tone surface reflects the light and emphasizes the rounded seed pods, fine stems and handmade connections. These earrings are silver in color but are not made from sterling silver.

The two earrings form a coordinated, oppositely directed pair. Their curves and proportions are related but not mechanically identical, preserving the natural individuality of the handmade work.

Despite their expressive length, the open construction keeps the earrings visually light. They can be worn as botanical jewelry, unusual poppy earrings or small pieces of sculptural wearable art.

The version shown in the photographs has two poppy seed pods in each earring and a silver-tone finish. A custom earring size or a black finish may be requested through personalization.

These earrings are designed as small wearable botanical objects, somewhere between jewelry, natural memories and personal symbols. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of dried poppy heads, slender stems and quiet botanical forms remaining after the flowers have faded. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its silver-tone appearance.

Because every seed pod, dotted crown, curved stem and decorative detail is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each pair individual.
