Teal Blue Glass Asymmetrical Bird Earrings – Blackened Copper

A pair of handcrafted asymmetrical bird earrings made from copper, pewter, teal blue glass and stainless steel. One earring features a small sculptural bird above an oval glass element, while the other combines matching glass with an elongated open loop.

The two different compositions are connected through the same materials, deep black finish and luminous blue-green glass. Together they form a balanced mismatched pair while allowing each earring to retain its own distinctive character.

Each oval glass element is surrounded by a textured setting of tiny metal spheres. The translucent color creates a vivid contrast with the blackened metal and may shift between turquoise, aqua, teal blue and deeper blue-green tones depending on the lighting.

The bird is individually shaped by hand, with a pointed beak, rounded body and extended tail. The second earring has a flowing open form that echoes the curves of the bird while keeping the overall pair visually light.

These earrings are designed as small wearable objects, somewhere between jewelry, natural memories and personal symbols. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with observations of small birds, drops of water and colored reflections found within the forest. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these impressions to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass is individually shaped by hand. Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, its color may appear turquoise, aqua blue, teal or a deeper blue-green shade.

Because every bird, open loop and glass setting is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the silhouettes, glass forms, dotted details and finish are natural and make each pair individual.

Your order will be packed with care in a kraft gift box, decorated with themed stickers and dried flowers, ready for gifting or keeping as a personal piece.
