Teal Blue Glass Bird Necklace – Blackened Copper

A handcrafted bird pendant necklace made from copper, pewter, teal blue glass and stainless steel. The small sculptural composition features a stylized black bird resting above a luminous oval glass element.

The bird is individually shaped by hand, with a simple pointed beak, rounded body and gently extended tail. Its compact silhouette gives the pendant a quiet, expressive character without reproducing a particular bird species literally.

The oval glass is surrounded by a textured setting of tiny metal spheres. Its translucent blue-green color creates a vivid contrast with the blackened metal and forms the glowing center of the design.

Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the glass may appear turquoise, teal blue, aqua or a deeper blue-green shade.

The pendant is designed as a small wearable object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each element is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with observations of small birds, fragments of sky and colored reflections found in nature. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these impressions to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

Because every bird and glass setting is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the silhouette, glass form, dotted details and finish are natural and make each necklace individual.

Packaging

Your order will be packed with care in a kraft gift box, decorated with themed stickers and dried flowers, ready for gifting or keeping as a personal piece.
