Two Mushroom Green Glass Oval Necklace – Blackened Copper

A handcrafted mushroom pendant necklace made from copper, pewter, steel and luminous green glass. The elongated oval composition features two sculptural mushrooms growing among delicate curved stems and botanical forms.

Two mushrooms rise at different heights inside the open frame. Both have smooth, individually shaped conical caps without raised dots, creating simple dark silhouettes above the glowing glass.

A large rounded oval glass element forms the vivid green base of the pendant. It rests within a richly textured setting of tiny metal spheres and irregular organic details.

A smaller round green glass bead appears higher on a separate slender stem. Its transparent surface creates a second point of color and visually balances the larger glass element below.

Depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle, the glass may appear bright emerald, lime green, olive, moss green or a deeper forest shade. Its handmade internal texture becomes especially visible when light passes through it.

A fine curved stem rises from the lower left side and ends in a smooth rounded droplet. Another group of narrow lines crosses gently through the right side of the composition, adding movement around the smaller mushroom.

The thin elongated oval frame surrounds the miniature forest scene and includes several tiny rounded metal accents along its outline.

An integrated loop at the top connects the pendant directly to the chain. Unlike a centerpiece necklace with two side attachments, this design hangs vertically from one central point.

The deep black finish emphasizes the smooth mushroom caps, fine botanical lines and vivid green glass. Depending on the light, the metal may appear matte black, dark graphite or softly metallic.

Despite its elongated proportions, the open spaces between the stems keep the pendant visually airy. It can be worn as woodland jewelry, an unusual mushroom talisman or a small piece of sculptural botanical art.

The version shown in the photographs has two smooth mushroom caps without dots, two green glass elements and a black finish. Raised mushroom dots, other available glass colors, a custom pendant size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

The pendant is designed as a small wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of slender mushrooms, curling forest shoots and fragments of green light found among moss and woodland plants. I do not reproduce nature literally. I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The photographs clarify that the composition contains two mushrooms and two green glass elements.

The metal is covered with black patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finishing solution to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The glass is melted in a special kiln and individually shaped. Subtle differences in its outline, internal texture, bubbles, transparency and shade are natural characteristics of the handmade process.

Because every mushroom cap, curved stem, oval frame and glass setting is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, proportions and finish are natural and make each necklace individual.
