Yellow Glass Mushroom Heart Necklace – Blackened Copper

A handcrafted mushroom heart necklace made from copper, pewter, yellow glass and stainless steel. Two sculptural mushrooms rise on slender curved stems inside an open heart-shaped frame, meeting a warm yellow glass element at the base.

Both mushrooms have smooth, individually shaped caps without dots. Their different heights create an asymmetrical woodland composition, while a central spiral curls into a small rounded bud between the stems.

The yellow glass rests within a textured setting of tiny metal spheres. Its warm color contrasts with the blackened metal, forming a bright focal point beneath the flowing heart outline. Open spaces between the stems allow the background to become part of the composition when the pendant is worn.

The pendant is designed as a small wearable botanical object, somewhere between jewelry, a natural memory and a personal symbol. Each component is shaped and finished by hand in my family workshop on the Baltic coast of Poland.

The design begins with impressions of delicate mushrooms, curling forest plants and fragments of warm light found among moss and fallen leaves. I do not reproduce nature literally; I allow these observations to guide the material until a new form appears. The result remains open to imagination and personal interpretation.

I do not usually begin with a finished sketch. The work grows intuitively during the making process — through the dialogue between hands, materials and feeling.

The metal is darkened with patina, carefully sanded and polished, then treated with an antioxidant finish to help protect the surface and preserve its deep tone.

The yellow glass catches the surrounding light and may appear brighter or deeper depending on the lighting, background and viewing angle.

The pictured version has two smooth mushroom caps, yellow glass and a black finish. Raised mushroom dots, another available glass color, a custom pendant size or a silver-tone finish may be requested through personalization.

Because every mushroom cap, curved stem, heart frame and glass setting is shaped and assembled by hand, small differences in the curves, spacing, glass appearance and finish are natural and make each necklace individual.
